The Met Gala is one of the most important fashion events of the year and it’s known as one of the most important events in New York. Known annually as the Met Gala, The Costume Institute Gala, or the Met Ball, it is the fashion exhibit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, and it’s a fundraiser and a ball. Vogue Magazine’s editor-in-chief Anna Wintour has been supervising over the event since 1995, but the Met Gala has been known as an important fashion event since 1971. Because the Met Gala is such a fashion-forward event, it stands to reason that the women in attendance -celebrities and models- wore their best gems. In fact, you can really see what the jewelry trend is for 2014 just by looking at what some of these fashion-forward women were wearing. Take a look.
1. Graduated Triple-Diamond Earrings

Victoria Beckham is a world-renowned fashion icon. She is flawless in everything she wears, not to mention this white ball gown with this trending waistline. You’ll notice that her hair, her dress, and her earrings are such show-stoppers that she chose not to wear a necklace. If you’re off to an event, keep in mind that if your dress is great, your hair is long, and your earrings are long, you may not need a necklace. Let’s take a look at another diva who chose not to wear a necklace. One of the reasons that Reese Witherspoon won the Best Dressed approval from People Style Watch was because of this great hot pink Stella McCartney gown. The dress and the hair are really spot-on. But take a look at her jewelry choices. She’s wearing an eye-popping wedding ring, and she has a bangle bracelet placed close to the elbow. She is another fashion icon who chose not to wear a necklace because her earrings were already outstanding, something like these studs.

3. Red Carpet Necklace

Kendall Jenner is another Best Dressed winner of People Style Watch. The cream-colored dress looks perfect with her olive skin, her dark hair, and the glitsy vintage-inspired clutch she carries. Her earrings are studs not altogether different from Reese Witherspoons, but her necklace is the show-stopper for this piece. Hers is a red carpet-worthy necklace what with its multiple diamond rows, which are very en vogue.

4. The Choker Diamond Necklace

The theme for this year’s Met Gala was “Beyond Fashion,” and Lily Aldridge seems to have that theme better than anyone, what with her shimmering metallic down, her hair, and, of course, that diamond choker.
